John Frusciante

One of the best guitarist. A great band Red Hot Chilli Peppers (RHCP). They makes a very evident difference among the present bands of today. Flea, Frusciante, Chad and Antony created wonder. I dont know why Frusciante left this wonderful band. Heard he was falling lot into drugs. Their best Live performance or it can be said as the best performance  was at the Slane Castle. My eye popped out on seeing the crowd. Luckily i was able to get the DVD of this fabulous performance.

So here is RHCP with the masterpiece "Californication"

Carlos Santana

Carlos Santana

I have known this name from when i was kid but had only listened to him seriously while i was traveling in a car. I only felt it like a jungle music at first because of the Micheal Shrieve's drum.  One song the "Black magic woman" attracted me. Then when i was in high school I liked the song Maria Maria. Recently i got the Woodstock Festival performance and its an epic. A must have for a music lover. Hence Santana with my personal favorite Black Magic Woman.

Jimmy Hendrix

Whenever I searched for a list of best guitarists this was the name I got on No.1. I listened to many of his hits. But to tell you the truth i was not so addicted to him as much as i was addicted to Jimmy Page or Eric Clapton. Jimmy Hendrix is known for the techniques he uses in playing the guitars. The first thing u notice when you see him playing is the left handed guitar. My uncle told me that it needs a level of maturity to understand Jimmi's music. I feel it true because when i was in my teens the greatest songs were of Backstreet Boys and Boyzone. So for all the mature friends :-) here's Jimmy Hendrix with his famous Voodoo Child

Mark Knopfler

Before seeking my uncle I did a search of my own for the best guitar solos. Came to know Mark Knopfler. I still don't know how to pronounce his name :-p. I came across this one video of a TV performance for his famous song "Sultans of swing". The way the fingers dance on that frets are awesome. The naughty fingers starts slowly then attains a speed of an eye blink for a same note. I liked this song. Then later came to know that he shared stage with the Eric clapton. A wonderful guitarist.

This is the video Sultans of swing

Eric Clapton

I became very fond of Jimmy Page solo. It became my ringtone, my first song in every playlist. My friends got fed of me. I kept listening to this 70's song while Akon, Lady Gaga and Justin Beiber  were what they preferred. Therefore I decided to have an alternate for Jimmy Page. The search for it is not yet fully successful. I went back to my uncle to get a name to google for. In my opinion 70-80's was the time of music. Few of the names that i noted down from uncle was Eric Clapton, Jimmy Hendrix, BB King, Neil Young, Neil Diamond. One name familiar among this was  Eric Clapton for I have listened to a song named Blue Eyes Blue which was the OST of Julia Roberts movie Runaway Bride. It is an unplugged (Acoustic) song. I started researching for his famous songs. Coccaine, Layla, I shot the sheriff along with his great blues Wonderful tonight and Tears in heaven. The successor of BB king has a lot to offer. I found that each of his live performance were an improvisation. The starting and ending solo of Layla are something that wont leave us quite soon after hearing it.

Below is one of the best Layla of all time.

Jimmy Page

It was my uncle who introduced me first to Led Zeppelin around an year ago. From there my journey started in search of  a wonder named music. The song Stairway to heaven changed my whole view on music. I started knowing that a guitar is not just an instrument but its actually a "Stairway to heaven". This is the greatest performance by Jimmy page for the legendary song "stairway to heaven" as far as  I know. Feel it. Flow in it.
